Photography with a Southern Accent

I am a photographer who lives in Mississippi, and, next to spending time with our grandchildren, there is nothing I love more than just rambling around with my camera, preferably off the beaten path, and taking pictures of simple everyday things that catch my eye ... from wildflowers, to old dilapidated barns and houses, to cows or goats grazing in a field, or hummingbirds at my feeder.

I "see pictures" everywhere I go, and have discovered that my interest in photography has literally opened up a new world for me. I've always loved and had an appreciation of Nature, but now I am even more aware of everything around me -- not just the scenery -- but sounds, and smells, and the way light and shadows give new depth and dimension to trees, grass, flowers, and buildings.

And nine times out of ten ... when I stop to capture something with my camera, I always find lagniappe waiting for me. It may be in the form of a honey bee deep within the petals of a flower I'm photographing, or a chameleon resting on a branch above my hummingbird feeder. And behind every picture, I've discovered there is a story waiting to be told.
